In fact, we paint a lot kitchen cabinets, we’re almost at 1,000 cabinets painted across the area!
Prepping For Cabinet Paint: Painting kitchen cabinets is easy, if you get the preparation process done correctly. We meet with our customers before the project even starts to go over all the little details like where we can park, who will be your painter, where we can wash brushes, etc. On the first day of the job, your painter will create a map and label all doors/hardware. After taking everything down, the main process begins. We start by cleaning we use a DE glosser to remove any of the original finish. After, we apply a strong coat of Valspar primer/ bonder. We have had the best result with two or three coats Valspar cabinet & Furniture paint. for the pasts several years painting the cabinets, we install hooks on the cabinet’s hidden side to use for our spray-racking system. Time to Paint the Cabinets. Unlike most other cabinet painters, we won’t need to set up a spray booth in your house. All cabinets doors & drawer faces go to our shop Instead, this means we can do all the work we need without any of the hassle or mess! As for the boxes, those are hand painted. With rollers & artist brushes that are designed for cabinets Not well. After trying multiple types of cabinet paint, we have had the best results Valspar Cabinet & Furniture Oil-Enriched Enamel paint. It’s the product we feel most comfortable offering the beast warranty with.
Problems That Can Occur: We have seen all the different things that can happen when cabinet painting is left in the wrong hands. We have learnt the hard way all the things that can go wrong and have built a system around them to they don’t happen again. But here are a few things that can happen: Without a bonding primer, the paint can be peeled/scratched right off. Without a stain-blocking primer, the color you chose can appear different or the original finish can be seen through the paint. We’ve seen kitchens reassembled in an entirely new fashion because nobody bothered to take note what it was before. Don’t even get me started on what can happen with a spray booth inside in your home.
How much do painted kitchen cabinets cost?
The average kitchen we see is about $ 4000. $90000. The price variates depending on the type of wood your cabinets are. For example, oak cabinets take more coats in order to cover the grain effectively on them. How long does cabinet painting take? The system we designed is probably the most time-efficient system out there Since we utilize are spray booths, we are able to complete projects in about a week.
How durable is painted kitchen cabinets?
Will they chip and peel?
here is what we would say is the most important question to ask every painter you get a bid from. We guarantee that our painting is done correctly and can face the test of time as well as everyday use. That’s why we have no problem offering a guarantee. If there is any issue with paint failure, we’ll figure out what caused it and ensure that it doesn’t happen again. With a two-year touchup? Although the cabinets we paint are durable enough for everyday use, they are not indestructible! If you have kids or pets, you probably know a little something about this. That’s why we offer free two-year touchups. After we’ve completed your project, you are guaranteed up to one hour’s worth of free touchups. These are for minor nicks and scratches, smaller than a quarter, and within arm’s reach. This is provided at no additional cost to you as we leave touchup paint at the end of the project.
Can I use my kitchen while you paint? With our system and process, you can use your kitchen for about 85% of the project duration. If you work with other contractors, your kitchen might be unusable.
Does cabinet painting remove the grainy look? Cabinet painting does not remove the grain, it only covers it. With certain lighting, types of wood, and color options it is more prevalent than others. We offer free color consultations so you know what to expect.
Is cabinet painting just a trend? We got this question a lot when we first started about 18 years ago. It’s safe to say that it’s not a trend anymore. Painting kitchen cabinets is an extremely cost-effective way to renovate your home and it’s not going away anytime soon.
